Corrine is a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend and co-worker.
I asked Corrine to write me about herself and I love how she told the story, so I will use parts of it directly.
~ We were engaged at 23. The same year my father passed away. he gave Milan permission to marry me and Milan promised to always take care of me and always love me...and he has not failed to do that even one day! He has to be the most loving caring generous man I know. And he's all mine! We were married at the age of 24 and are celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary this September 6th! We are best friends.
In between the age of 25-29 I had two baby girls. First we were blessed with Isabella. A happy healthy baby girl and then another blessing came along, Adriana. Bella and Ana will always have he blessing of sisterhood.
The diagnosis of Alopecia came 2 years ago. I had enough hair to donate for wigs, then in a matter of 30 days my hair was gone. I shaved it off before it fell out on it's own. I needed to be in control...somewhat. There is no known cure fo Alopecia, so bald it was.
After having a sore back off and on for a year I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (stage 4) and it was on my liver as well. I have been through 21 rounds of heavy duty chemo and my numbers are great. They were at 1800 and now down to 80. I strongly believe it has to do with my loving husband, children, sisters and all my family and friends. I also have a kick ass attitude...and if you know me you know it's true. I have way to much to do and see to die. So back I went every two weeks for chemo. With every treatment the cancer has shrunk and shrunk. It is still there but it is getting smaller and smaller. I don't know if it will every go away 100% but I am willing to do what every I have to do to live the longest life possible.
We have been very open and honest to Bella and Ana about my illness. They are so patient, caring , loving and understanding about all of this. I think it was harder to see me bald than anything. My girls have had to explain to their friends why mom is bald and it takes a lot of guts to do that. I am so proud of them and Milan.
I am that one in a million who receive positite results every time I have a CT scan. ~
I have known Corrine for about 17 years. Our paths have crossed many times through our job together at the Casino and I am honored to capture these images for them to cherish forever. She is one of the strongest, most stubborn and loving women I know. This story is no where near done.
