I am so pleased to share my third inspire session. What is an inspire session? I asked people to nominiate someone special they felt deserved a photo shoot. In this case, it was Denice's daughter Brittany who felt her mom was that person. I loved her story and we both agreed that Denice, Brittany and her sister Dana should all be involoved.
Oh, and a special shout out to This Sweet Love Photography. Noella (the owner) happened to be killing time in the park at the same time as our shoot and joined in. Made it all the more special.
Here is Denice's story as told by Brittany:
"I would like to nominate my mother for your "inspire" contest. My mom's sotry is fairily complex, but it comes down to being the strongest and most positive woman I know. She inspires me everyday to have those same qualities. My mom has had Rheumatoid arthritis since she was 16. She has had bilateral knee replacements, a hip and elbow replaced. I know my mom is in pain daily (as I too now have RA so I can relate) but growing up I NEVER heard my mother complain. There would be days where you could literally hear her knees grinding because of the damage, but again, never complained, and always managed to put a smile on her face.
It amazed me.
12 years ago, my mom found a lump in her breast, and was diagnised with stage 3 cancer. She underwent a mastectomy, chemo therapy and radiation like a champ. I still am so proud and happy to say she has been in remission since then. Again, she took every day one at a time, and always had a positive outlook.
Over the past 10 years, my mother has also battled with depression. Something that was never really delt with until 3 years ago. With everything going on in her life, I understood this struggle, and she has worked so hard to overcome this obstacle as well.
I can't possibly put into words how proud I am of my mom. I'm tearing up as I write this. She has overcome so many downfalls in her life but still comes out smiling. Everyone who meets her always says she is the sweetest. I am truly blessed to have her as my mom and role model."
The day I met these three was one of those "bad days" in my own personal life. This session put the biggest smile on my face and inspired me to take a deep breath, and count your blessings in life. Denice, you really are a sweet woman and your daughters are not only INSANELY gorgeous, but you can tell they love you with all of their hearts.
Thank you for nominating your mom Brittany and I hope you cherish these images forever.
