For most moms-to-be, the ideal time for a studio maternity session is between 30 and 34 weeks of pregnancy.

At this stage:

Your baby bump is beautifully round and well-defined.
Most moms are still comfortable enough to move, pose, and enjoy the experience.
There’s less chance of baby deciding to make an early appearance before your session.

Every pregnancy is different, of course. If you’re expecting twins, have a high-risk pregnancy, or know your baby may arrive early, we may plan your session a little sooner. There is flexibility.

What to Consider When Choosing Your Date

I recommend booking your Winnipeg studio maternity photography session during your second trimester, ideally around 20–24 weeks.

Booking early gives you:

More flexibility with scheduling.

Don’t panic!

If you’re already past 30 weeks, it’s still worth reaching out. I’ll always do my best to fit you into my schedule. I have had expectant moms in the studio all the way up to due date.
