FAQs
-
The best time to reserve your newborn session is during your second trimester. I only take a limited number of newborns each month to allow flexibility for babies who arrive early or late. Your session date is confirmed once your little one is born.
-
Newborn sessions are ideally photographed within the first 7-14 days after birth. During this stage, babies tend to sleep more deeply and naturally curl into those timeless, cozy poses. If your baby is older, don’t worry—beautiful newborn portraits are still possible, and I’ll tailor the session to your baby’s stage.
-
Absolutely! Parents often worry about this, but you don’t need to have the “perfect” baby. With over a decade of experience, I work at your baby’s pace, allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and cuddles. Every session is baby-led, and patience is simply part of the process. For more helpful information take a look at my blog: What if my newborn doesn't sleep?
-
Most newborn sessions last 1 to 2 hours. This gives us plenty of time for feeding, diaper changes, soothing, and safely creating a variety of beautiful images without ever rushing your baby. For more information take a look at my blog: How long does a newborn session take?
-
Always. Your baby’s comfort and safety are my highest priorities. Every pose is done gently and safely, and your baby’s cues always come first. If a pose isn’t comfortable for your baby, we simply move on to something else.
-
You really don’t need much! I provide wraps, blankets, bonnets, headbands, and a carefully curated collection of timeless props. Simply bring extra diapers, bottles if needed, a pacifier (even if your baby doesn’t usually take one), and anything your baby normally needs during an outing.
-
Absolutely! Family portraits are one of my favourite parts of a newborn session. Parents and siblings are encouraged to be part of the experience, creating images that celebrate your growing family alongside individual portraits of your newest addition.
Dogs are always welcome in my studio.

Neutral colours such as cream, white, beige, soft grey, and earth tones photograph beautifully and create a timeless look. Once you book, you’ll receive a preparation guide with wardrobe suggestions to make planning easy.

Yes! I have a carefully curated collection of wraps, blankets, hats, bonnets, headbands, baskets, beds, and other timeless props. My style is simple and classic, keeping the focus on your baby rather than trendy accessories.
-
That’s completely expected—and completely okay. Newborns set the pace. We’ll stop whenever your baby needs to feed, be changed, or have a cuddle. There is never any pressure to rush.
-
Many families choose to book both their maternity and newborn sessions together. It’s a beautiful way to document your journey into parenthood, and booking both early helps secure availability for each milestone.
-
Absolutely. My style is known for timeless, beautifully posed newborn portraits, but every session is guided by your baby's comfort and safety. I take the time to create those classic images while following your baby's cues, so the experience stays calm, relaxed, and enjoyable for everyone.
